Live Score Card of 1th Day 3rd Test Match Between India And Australia

India under some pressure after the early fall of wickets, VVS Laxman and Gambhir steadying Resuming score after the lunch VVS Laxman and local boy Gambhir steadied the ship a little bit after those two wickets.
India would be looking this pair to play as long as possible and to put a good score in the board for the Indian bowlers to defend. They are set in the crease and it will be great for the team if they go on scoring those runs at such a brisk pace.

Bhajji knocking the doors of 300+ test wicket clubs!

Harbhajan singh is in the border of taking 300 test wickets. Yesterday as he wrapped up the top order of the Australians, he reached to 299 test wickets. He has been a good revolution since the tour of Australia in India where he on his own got India to the victory.

He came to Indian team way back in late 90s. But then it was the era of Anil Kumble. He grew under the shadow of Anil Kumble. But once he got the chance of unleashing himself to the world on his own in the
Australian series in 2001, he utilized it to perfection.

He took 32 wickets in three tests demolishing the Australian hope to win a series in India once again. From then he never looked back.
His off spin was compared with the likes of Saqlain Mustaq, the great Pakistani spinner who actually started the fashion of wrong one in off spin.

Before the beginning of the 3rd Test between Australia and India.

His varieties with some assistance from the pitch are hard nut for the batsman. Now at the age of 25, he has set up a wizard for himself. There has been up and downs in his career. He was tested several times in accusation of chucking. But he never let his moral go down.

His success in overseas may not be that much good looking, but when you look at the context of each game, he had hardly anything to do.Injuries also came by him. He has undergone one surgery during Pakistan series also. He has been under lot of criticism for his stuff both on the field and off the field.

Above all, one thing should be mentioned that he is a good person and very much down to earth. It will be a moment for him to cherish in the coming test match against Aussies, hopefully.

Live score card of 5th day 2nd Test Match between Australia and India!

This was such kind of day’s play where Aussies could not have expected to control the game except any wrong move by the Indians. But t their dismay, no such thing happened in the course of play on the fourth day. All through out the day, Indians were on top of Aussies except for a short patch. Australia basically lost the control of the game in the first and second day itself. They made it look even worse for them by applying defensive field for two Indian openers who are very much agile between the wickets. They clobbered the Aussie bowlers all around the park. Later when India came out to bowl, they were attacking from the word go. And results came out soon. Now Australia is on the verge of loosing the test match. For India, they would be looking to remove the remaining wickets as soon as possible and clinch the victory here. On the other hand, Australia would be looking for some miracle from any of the batsman. Specially, Clarke would be the main key if they have to save the test match form here on.

Live score card of 3rd day 2nd Test Match between Australia and India!

A great day of cricket ended in a great manner with the fall of Micheal Clarke. It seemed as if Dhoni wrote something on a piece of paper just before the start of day’s play and Indian players has converted it into reality in the field. The PCA Ground has been the witness of many things today. Firstly, it was the ton of Ganguly. It was in parallel with Dhoni’s fierce batting display. Then it was the turn of the Indian pace bowlers with the new ball. Later in the evening, the spinners came into play as well.

Sourav has been a legend and he has proved it time after time. His exit from cricket can leave a deep hole in the Indian cricket that can never be filled up by anyone else.

Today in the morning, he was cautious. Once he was set, he opened up a bit. He made some wonderful shots through the off side. He was patient and now he can be selected for the remaining test also. The selectors showed faith in him and he has come up with a good show in the end.

The second day of Second test match of the Border Gavaskar Trophy is scheduled in between Australia and India today at 9.30 Am at Punjab Cricket Association Stadium, Mohali on 18th October 2008.

ICL chief executive Kapil Dev said that he is very much concerned for the player who has taken the risk of lifetime ban by participating in this tournament. He feels that BCCI as well as IIC should take this tournament as a parallel body to the international cricket. He wants to spread the cricket in a modern way and so he has been involved in this tournament.

ICL back with second edition, Hyderabad Heroes win by 18 runs!

After a modest start in the year 2007, the Indian Cricket League in back in action with a all new season and with more number of competitors. This time Chief Kapil Dev has increased the number of teams by addng one more team to the competition. That team is named as Dhaka Warriors. This year, the organizers have also spread the competition all over India. With four venues booked for the tournament, this time the organizers hope to get a good review of the matches in this tournament.

In the last edition of ICL, the tournament saw some unpleasant things from both BCCI and ICC. Even the players were threatened to be banned from playing domestic and International cricket. Some of the players are still under that case only. Ban was imposed on players like Mohd. Yousuf. We never know the BCCI and its plans. Neither do we wish to know their strategy too. But the people all over the world feel that this one tournament is not going to hurt them at least financially. This is all about enhancing the cricket.

live score card of 1st ODI Match between New Zealand And Bangladesh!

Cricket is a game of upset. Each and every time some low profiled teams like Bangladesh has tried to prove it. Sometimes they stand at the podium and rejoice and in other times they just clap for the victorious team. But this has never been the same altogether when a young gun like Ashraful took the responsibility of the team. The team has ended up beating teams like Australia, India, South Africa and now they have beaten New Zealand in their home soil. Today, Bangladesh pulled up a nice victory that never looked liked Kiwis can pull off.

live score card of 1st Test Match between Australia and India!

Aussies started off their second innings in a good manner. Katich was silent in one end where Hayden took the responsibility to move the scorecard. But he was tamed by an in swinger from Zaheer. Though later on it was found that the ball would have missed leg. After lunch, Katich and Ponting started the battle. But this time the duo was not that successful as Ponting fell to Ishant. Ishant bowled with pace, venom and used his slower balls to good effect to Ponting. Katich and Hussey tried to give a fight back. But Harbhajan sent both to the pavilion. Before any further partnership can be built between Clarke and Watson, Ishant removed Clarke with a nice slower ball. But after that nothing seemed to have gone right for India. The wicket-keeper batsman Haddin was very much in ease to face the Indian spinners specially Harbhajan. Kumble made no difference to the situation. Some close shouts were there but was turned down by the umpire. At the end of the day, Australia finished up with 193 on the board for the loss of five wickets.
We can just hope that this Indian team is capable of taking pressure at any situation. Otherwise, India will go down 1-0 to the next test. Tomorrow, Australia will be looking for safe score that can’t be chased down by the Indians. May be then they will give their bowlers a chance to give it a shot for the victory.
After the break, India started their innings with caution. Both Sehwag and Gambhir were watchful early on in the innings. But once Johnson came to the attack, runs started to flow. Johnson took most of the pondering from the Indians. He conceded at a rate of more than 5 in his four overs before the play was called off for the day due to rain. At stumps, India were at 68/0 with Sehwag on 43 and Gambhir on 20.

Tomorrow India would be looking to see off the first few overs before start looking for a big first innings score. But with Sehwag in the crease, nothing can be predicted. On the other hand Australia would be aiming to get the openers as soon as possible and give the middle order batsmen some sort of pressure. Today, odd balls were not bouncing as much expected. This can be a problem for the batsmen tomorrow. But seeing the experience, it can be said that Indians can pull off a good total if they can survive the first few overs when the dew will be there. Overall, we are all set for a good day of test match the next day.

On lunch at day one, Ricky Ponting was batting on 41 with Katich on 28 at the other end. The score at the end of first session was 75/1.

Early in the morning Ponting won the toss and elected to bat first. From the first over itself, the controversies started to flow. Asad Rauf gave a wrong decision in favor of the Indians giving out Hayden in third ball which did not touch his bat while carrying to Dhoni. Then started the resilience of Katich and Ponting who added valuable 166 runs for the team. Katich departed after making 66 runs and more importantly giving valuable support to the captain. Just after the tea break, Ponting brought up his 36th test hundred and breaking his drought of runs in India. But soon after he got to his hundred, he started playing more shots to push the run rate. As a result he fell to Harbhajan Singh who trapped him in front of the stumps. The hardest blow was of Micheal Clarke who was plumbed in front of the stumps in the last over in the bowling of Zaheer Khan. Hussey remained not out at the other end with 46 runs at the end of the day.

Sachin tops the list in “Shane Warne’s Century”!

Warne is now in the news again. But this time after his divorce he has been in news for good things. This time he comes to the limelight for his book “Shane Warne’s century”. This legendary has never been out of the limelight after when he started his carrier as a leg-spinner from Australia. He played more than 100 tests and has become the most wicket taker in the tests, though his record is beckoning to be broken by another spin wizard Muttiah Murlidaran with just 9 wickets to spare. This leggy has taken part in IPL and has been the back bone behind the win of Rajasthan Royals. Now as his book has been released, he is back in action. He considered Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar as the top player in his list.

Warne’s top 100 has been featured with lots of fellow Australians, nine Indians, eight Pakistani players and similar number of Sri Lankan players. Out of the hundreds, he has considered Scahin as the best. This great cricketer has been featured in lots of books written by cricketers due to his greatness in batting in the field and for being a modest person off the field. Warne said that he liked the way Sachin used to handle his spin. He was very much bold and played some outrageous shots against him. His temperament and his attitude towards cricketing shots made Warne to spot Sachin in the no. 1 position just ahead of another West Indian great Brian Lara. Five fellow Australian has been featured in the top ten. They are Allan Border, Glenn McGrath, Ricky Ponting, Mark Taylor and Ian Healy. Spin wizard Murlidaran was considered as no.7 in his list while the 3rd position was given to Curtly Ambrose. Among the Indians, Rahul Dravid, Anil Kumble, Ravi Shastri, Dilip Vengasarkar and Kapil Dev are the other players to feature in the top 50.
